Just B Tiny: The Brenda Schwerin Story

Every now and then we like to do follow-ups with some of our phenomenal clients. Up next at bat: the lovely Ms. Brenda Schwerin of Novato, California. Even from nearly 600 miles away, we were able to correspond and create her perfect home together. Brenda has a unique story that touched our hearts and reminded us of why we all do this for a living.

Giving proper review to Tiny SMART House for building my 220 sq. ft., 20’ Willamette Farmhouse on wheels called, Tiny Just B House in 2016.

Working with the team headed up by Nathan Light Watson and Designer, we created the design using their model, choosing appliances and costuming other elements from long distance. I was in Novato, CA and they are in Albany, OR. Designed mostly by emails and drawings using Dropbox and phone meetings in 3 months.

The build took 3 months and Nathan accommodated my circumstances of being homeless by building it within 6 months to have it delivered from Oregon to Las Vegas, NV where I could join and care take my 81 year old widowed Mother who was completely alone.

My journey’s on Instagram @JustBTiny #tinyjustbhouse #justbtiny #ilovemytinySMARThouse. I do love my tiny house and feel I have been waiting all my life for this movement and style of living. It feels sturdy and cozy, is made for four seasons, has all my priority appliances, is aesthetically pleasing and a definite conversation piece, as everyone stops by to say hello and get a tour.

I got to drive up to the shop to see it in its final stages and felt immediately welcomed by Nathan’s staff and family. It was truly a great experience. I support family owned businesses and highly recommend Tiny SMART House.” – Brenda Schwerin

These days she’s back in the golden state, soaking up the sunshine and sending some our way to Oregon. Her Just B Tiny house (which came from her grade school nickname, “Tiny B”) has gained quite a following and is prettier than ever. We wish her all the best, and can’t wait to see what wonderful adventures she devises next. Keep it up Brenda – you rock!
